Maid Levy in Singapore 2025: Rates, Concession & How to Pay
Everything employers need to know about the foreign domestic worker levy in 2025 — standard vs concessionary rates, who qualifies, and how to pay via GIRO.

The foreign domestic worker (FDW) levy is a monthly pricing mechanism the Singapore government uses to manage the number of foreign workers. As an employer, you pay it for the entire duration your helper’s work permit is in force.
Standard vs concessionary levy
- Standard rate: S$300 per month.
- Concessionary rate: S$60 per month — available if there is an eligible person in your household.
Who qualifies for the concession?
- A child below 16 years old who is a Singapore citizen.
- An elderly person aged 67 or above who is a Singapore citizen.
- A person with disabilities who is a Singapore citizen.
You must apply for the concession and the eligible person should be living at the same registered address. Only one helper per eligible person can enjoy the concession.
How to pay the levy
The easiest way is to set up GIRO, which auto-deducts the levy monthly. The levy is billed on the 17th of each month for the previous month, and late payment can affect your ability to renew the work permit. Check the latest official rates on the MOM website before budgeting.
